Frequently Asked Questions

Working Together: How and When

How do we get started working with you?

Reach out to Bracha! [email protected] She’ll schedule a call and you can share about your need and what you’re trying to accomplish.

We’re happy to review old courses, analyze data, or interview your stakeholders to better understand how we can help.

We’ll share ideas in the first conversation, then will follow up with more ideas, examples, and recommendations—some of which are learning solutions, some of which may be insights that go beyond training. (See the next FAQ.)

I’m not sure if my need is a learning need or a different kind of need. It might be about recruitment/compensation/structure/other…can you still help?

Reach out! Our team can help you disambiguate what is a training need and what isn’t. Our job is to help you solve your challenge and reach your metrics.

Our clients come to us with a business problem, then we consult with them on the solution, which may include recruitment tactics, hiring practices, incentive structures, reporting lines, HR processes, software and systems needs, internal comms practices, or even a reimagining of the structure for talent, learning, and development at the organization. (See the last Proven Model on the Examples page.)

Even though we’re specialists in practice-based learning, we don’t believe training is the sole answer to every need. Our long-term partners appreciate us because we share honest recommendations based on our experience with companies facing similar challenges.

We don’t know what we need yet. We’re still having internal conversations. Is it too early to talk?

Reach out! You’re never wasting our time. We love sharing ideas and insights, no matter how early you feel you are in your process. We’ve had folks reach out when all they knew was that something felt off. We’re happy to listen and share resources and case studies that can help you figure out what questions to ask internally, what data to look for, and how to navigate your next steps.

No one has ever reached out too early, but sometimes people reach out too late. The earlier the conversation, the more effective and wide-ranging the solution can be. Our ability to cross-pollinate best practices and help partners steer clear of common pitfalls is part of the value we provide.

I don’t know what business metrics we’re trying to change. / I don’t know what behaviors we’re trying to affect.

No problem! That’s the case for many of our clients. We’ll help you identify the business metrics and behaviors you need to change to meet your goals.

Do you define competencies, identify behaviors, and conduct needs assessments?

It’s one of our specialities. Great learning experiences start with a great behavioral analysis. We’ve developed the role competencies for everyone from frontline logistics workers to the North American business leader of one of the world’s biggest pharma companies.

Do you create eLearning, WBTs, or digital simulations?

Yes!

Do you create workshops, tabletop games, and in-person simulations?

Yes!

Do you create virtual workshops, remote games, and hybrid events?

Yes!

Do you have facilitators? / Do you do Train the Trainers?

Yes to both. We can even train your facilitators on interactive facilitation skills so they feel empowered to engage learners with scenarios, role-plays, and hands-on practice.

Shifting the paradigm from “instructors” to “facilitators” is one of our Proven Models for transforming organizations. We’re happy to share how we’ve helped our clients establish new expectations, competencies, and skill-development paths for facilitators.

Do you create training for [role you’re wondering about]?

Yes! Reach out and share the role. Chances are, we’ve developed training for that role in your industry or another industry.

We’re doing the learning strategy and curriculum design in-house, but we need one deliverable. Do you do that?

Yes!

We need an entire program, learning journey, and change management plan. Do you do that?

Yes!

We lost resources and we need a partner who can take their responsibilities until we backfill. Can you help us?

Yes. We’ve filled in for individuals and served as the interim or long-term training department for clients who need it.

I’ve never gotten a vendor setup at my company. I don’t know where to start.

We’re experienced at helping new clients navigate their organization’s unique MSA (Master Services Agreement) and SOW (Statement of Work) process. Reach out and we’ll help you figure out the steps.

I don’t work for a Fortune 500 company. It’s [privately held / a large nonprofit / a Fortune 1000].

Our client list includes some of the world’s largest privately held companies and not-for-profit organizations. Reach out and together we’ll figure out whether we’re the partner for you.

Accessibility, Translation, and Localization

Do your learning experiences meet accessibility standards? / What’s your relationship with Disability:IN?

We design for accessibility from the first prototype. We can create learning experiences that meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at an AA level, aligned with the recommendations of Disability:IN, the disability inclusion nonprofit that advises Fortune 500 companies on accessibility.

For us, those guidelines are a great starting point, but our goal is to give people the best learning experience of their lives—whether they use assistive technology, are neurodivergent, or learned English as an adult.

Over the years, we’ve invested in R&D, adopted best practices from the video game industry, and—most importantly—conducted learner testing with real learners who use assistive technology at Fortune 500 companies.

We’ve helped many of our partners start or advance their accessibility journey. Some have signed Disability:IN’s Procure Access Statement; others aren’t there yet. No matter where you are in your journey, reach out. We can help.

Do you do translation and localization?

Yes! Learners in all locations and languages deserve great learning. See the Cencora Case Study for a description of how we include experts, stakeholders, and real end learners in a two-way process that helps everyone feel heard and leads to locally relevant learning experiences.

Technology, Platforms, and Pricing

What platforms do your eLearnings work on?

We design for all major Learning Management Systems and Learning Experience Platforms. We package files to the exact specs you need, including SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, AICC, and xAPI.

Our eLearnings can also be hosted on a website if you’re deploying experiences to your external partners, clients, or customers.

Do we receive source files? / Do we pay license fees? / If we want to make updates in the future, does it cost money? / Do you use a proprietary development tool?

Everything we create is developed using industry standard software so that clients are free to make edits themselves in the future. We dislike the model where companies feel trapped working with a vendor. Instead, we share our source files with you at the end of a project, and can even provide documentation for your internal teams. Our long-term partners love the return on investment (no more license fees or paying for each seat).

What is your pricing structure? / I have a specific budget for my project and I want to know if you can do the project for that amount. / I don’t know what my budget is yet. How much will it cost to work together?

We use a flat hourly rate that makes it simple for our clients. We create hours estimates based on your needs and collaborate with you to scope the work so that it matches the budget you’re trying to hit.

Our long-term partners love our hourly approach because if strategic priorities suddenly shift, we’re flexible. For example, if we’re developing an in-person workshop for an annual sales meeting and your event is canceled, you can have us apply the unused hours toward a series of eLearnings instead.

Can we do a retainer?

Yes. Our long-term clients often allocate a budget to work with us each year. As needs come up, they can apply those hours towards any deliverable or service, including design, development, facilitation, strategic planning, or consultation.

Company Details

Our company tracks spend with diverse suppliers. Are you a certified diverse-owned business?

Yes. We are a certified minority-owned and women-owned business by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

What are the advantages of an Employee Ownership Trust?

Research shows that Employee Ownership Trusts have greater longevity, stability, and employee retention than other ownership models.

We designed our Employee Ownership Trust to prioritize care for our employees and service for our clients and their learners.
